The Gospels: The Apostle Paul, the Servant of God

South Campus  |  Tuesday, April 22 • 10am

Instructor: Rev. Dr. Lou Prues • Human Interest

What makes Paul so important to Christianity yet so hard to understand and at times controversial? Could Christianity have spread without him? Persecutor, Missionary, Theologian, Pastor. Which is he? This course will examine this complex and often misunderstood follower of the historical Jesus, and as a reprise of two very popular classes given during fall 2023, it is brought back by popular demand.

About the Instructor: The Rev. Dr. Prues attended the University of Cincinnati where he earned a B.A. and an M.B.A. in marketing and financial management. He received his Master of Divinity from Dubuque Theological Seminary (1974) and a DMin and Ph.D.from San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1980. From 1970 through 2021, Dr. Prues had pastorates in Michigan, Washington State, Iowa and California. He was recently named “notable nonprofit board leader” by Crains Detroit Business for his work leading Presbyterian Villages of Michigan.
